April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing guitar and taking piano lessons which ignited her passion for writing songs. In the seventh grade, April began taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her interest to write songs. As April approached 14 years old, she dedicated an enormous amount of time creating song ideas and perfecting the music. In the following months, she began taking writing excursions with her father in LA and NY. April included other subjects in her track"Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt issues like peer pressure, and disabilities, or even teenage suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer who has a growing number of followers. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership as well as being a specialist in lifestyle. Born without a left hand, Lockhart has a significant part to play in her. But it's not the entire tale. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on her Instagram account, but she isn't making it the focal point of the post. The point? The message? That we are all multifaceted, and that our identity and physical self aren't as appear. Lockhart talks through video from Nashville. "I don't wish for it to dictate my personal life. I do not want to be merely known as a disability expert. And it doesn't affect my daily life. I conduct everything normally and I've found the best way for me to adapt things. But it's also a part of me so I think that it's crucial to speak about. Lockhart, a real inspiration for self-acceptance in general she is on a long process to attain it. Lockhart admits to having been through phases in her life in her body, and felt uneasy in some instances to wear clothing that displayed her arms. Today, she wears anything she likes and uploads photos in those outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. Self-love, she says is a process. It's hard to say when you'll reach the point of no return. It's a fact that I see common to everyone regardless of what their insecurity is. It's important to have people that know and appreciate your situation. They will be the ones to ask what you think about?
